Fountain Outreach
We aim to make fresh produce accessible to all families in our community.
ABOUT
We are an urban farm located in Tavares, Florida dedicated to teaching our communities how to grow and prepare organic vegetables. At the garden, we create a safe space for positive, learning opportunities and inclusive events. Our love for outreach compassionately extends into growing vegetables, fruits and roots for families and neighbors of Lake County.
MISSION
Our mission is to promote healthy eating and living to our communities and neighbors by providing access to pesticide-free produce and teaching opportunities on how to grow, prepare and share through diverse growing systems and engaging educational events.
VISION
Our vision is to educate and to create accessibility to nutritious food in a faith-based, family-oriented environment with a positive impact for local and surrounding communities.
Our Story
In March 2018, Victory Garden was pioneered by Buddy Walker in a cooperative partnership with Lake Cares Food Pantry to provide sustainable produce to those in need in Lake County, FL.
The vision was to create a garden that was handicap accessible and showcased the ease of growing vegetables in diverse growing systems. Over the years the urban farm would go on to support the local community through its contributions to food distributions, restaurants, and small businesses.
In 2024, Caryn Desinor came with a refreshed focus on community. By combining her love for people and with her teaching experience, the garden transitioned to a nonprofit designed to teach how to grow and prepare organic vegetables. Under her direction, the garden has grown to include family oriented events, gardening workshops and educational partnerships with local schools.
With an extensive career background in communications and brand strategy, Caryn shares a passion for philanthropy, gardening and loose leaf teas. She lives in Lake County with her husband, Ahkeem, their two toddlers and Jack Russell Terrier.
