David Hoenig is a retired ship’s captain who has dedicated his retirement career to nonprofit leadership, helping organizations achieve sustainability and meaningful community impact. Since 2000, he has supported initiatives such as Hope Now International, which distributed approximately 40,000 backpacks during its inaugural back-to-school event, and co-founded the International Christian Film and Music Festival, now attracting 10,000–15,000 attendees annually.

More recently, David launched feeding ministries at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and First Methodist Church, programs that together serve between 5,000 and 6,000 individuals each year. His experience with large-scale projects and community engagement has also led him to develop a passion for organic gardening. This interest inspired collaborations that promote healthy eating, reduce chemical exposure, and culminated in the creation of a community garden that has evolved into a public park.

David’s work reflects a lifelong commitment to stewardship, service, and building programs that strengthen communities and enrich lives.

Stephan Desinor serves as Operations Director, bringing more than a decade of experience in training, leadership, and management. He believes in leading with excellence, kindness, and purpose — values that shape both his work and his relationships.

Originally trained as a landscape architect, Stephan designed for elite residential properties throughout South Florida before relocating to Lake County to pursue agricultural discipleship and address food insecurity at a community level. His work bridges design, sustainability, and food systems, creating spaces and programs that serve both people and the land.

Stephan previously worked with Lake Cares Food Pantry, supporting food distributions across Central Florida while building strong community partnerships. His leadership background also includes working with adults on the autism spectrum and serving as a youth pastor with a focus on mentoring teenage boys.

A frequent speaker on pest and disease management, production farming, and Florida-friendly and native landscaping, Stephan is passionate about education and stewardship. Outside of his work, he is a race car enthusiast who enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and discovering new places to enjoy great food.
